Organic Food at Songaia

Bill Hickey

At Songaia the organic garden continues to be a central feature of the community, especially for the Biogaians, Songaia's group of gardening passionates.

Planting part of the organic garden
The garden provides not only fresh, healthy and organic fare for our table but also the opportunity to work together.
The taste of a vine ripe tomato, the sweetness of freshly picked corn or the endless parade of zucchini grown in a way that sustains us and the land reflects the community's strong value of respecting the earth.

The garden space is large, with additional space for raised beds, an orchard, a patch of 30 plus year old blueberry bushes and a working greenhouse.
The harvest is abundant with the help of many hands.
